Orgadam, near Chennai, South India emerged as Auto industrial hub. Well known auto sector players were setting manufacturing units in region. This created need to develop townships close by to help Employers encourage workers to live closer to industrial units to cut travel time. It was an opportunity to build integrated townships that included residential, education, recreational and health care facility within or closer to community. Target population was employees working in and around Orgadam as well potential investors who wanted to keep it as an rental property.
One of the townships opted to use appropriate building technology. Renowned architect and engineering firm Adlakha & associates was engaged to provide consulting services. Hydraform Interlocking fly ash building blocks were used with reinforced load bearing structures. Being a big project, large block yard was set up site itself to cater to captive needs to project.
